Daily Ag Direction 8/26/25

Grains took a dip early in the ovenight trade as crop condition ratings released after yesterday's close showed up better than expected, but values rebounded by the end of the session amid strong volume. Corn crop ratings came in steady at 71% Good/Excellent vs an expected decline of 1%. Corn approached the 50 day moving average yesterday but failed to hold to the close. Beans caught a slight bid on speculation of trade negotiations with China opening up, but that has slippped away after the open. Both corn and beans are in the neighborhood of values that warrant consideration for some new crop pricing, so it is a good time to look at pricing strategies for fall crops and get offers in place. Wheat posted favorable export inspections yesterday, with Nigeria coming in ahead of Mexico as the primary US HRW destination, but futures continue to quietly slip lower among overall bearish fundamentals with the Dec KC wheat posting new contract lows.
