Daily Ag Direction 08-25-25

Good Morning!

Major news to start the week centers around the Pro Farmer Tour. The final 2025 US Corn Yield estimate sits at 182.7 bu., much below the USDA posted figure at 188.8 bu./acre. However, this is still a tour record. The soybean figure was more in line at 53 bu. compared to USDA’s projection at 53.6 bu./acre. Concerns about various pockets throughout the corn-belt have the capacity to drop yields but we will see if USDA follows suit on the Sept. WASDE. The CFTC report on Friday showed funds adding back 28k net corn contracts and soybeans gained 24.5k net contracts. Obviously yield risk from hot weather in August diminishes this week and rain is setting up great planting opportunities for the southern wheat belt to start September.
