Daily Ag Direction 8/20/25
8/20/25
Grains showing some small strength here at the start of the day with Chicago SRW leading the charge by moving $.08 off a September contract low. This market is feeling the pressure of a large crop coming, but it looks like today we’ll stay off the lows. Day two of the ProFarmer tour concluded showing results from NE & IN. The numbers don’t indicate quite what USDA is projecting for each state, but still large nonetheless. Results for that below. EU showing a decline in 25/26 soft wheat export, corn imports, & soybean imports. Brazilian trade association slightly increases corn & bean export expectations. Data to watch tomorrow includes the IA, IL, MN leg of the crop tour & export numbers. So far the crop tour has concluded a big crop is on the way and the market will be eagerly watching export inspections to see if our new crop sales pace can keep moving at a good enough clip each week to keep carryout numbers manageable.
